Pilates Platinum on POSITIVITY :)

We talk a lot about living a positive life and starting your day with happy thoughts—and it’s for a good reason!
Smiling is contagious. Being happy is a choice.

Always looking at the bright side of things creates a domino effect on the rest of your life. What’s our favorite way to get happy? Pilates Platinum classes of course!

But we’re not saying it’s always easy. If you’re having a hard time ignoring negative thoughts or are finding yourself feeling down for whatever reason, there are tips and tricks to turn those negative thoughts away. Don’t let negativity get in your way of happiness. We’ve all heard this a million times: “When life gives you lemons…make lemonade!” But it’s true.

Today we’re sharing some thoughts that should brighten up a dark day.
Read on to defeat (and re-think) negative thoughts:

Did you know that 85% of the stuff you worry about ends up having a positive or neutral outcome anyway? The next time you’re worried, take a deep breath and remember that there’s a much higher change of everything working out. And smile!

Don’t be so hard on yourself! Recognize that your negative thoughts are oftentimes way harsher than anything anyone who cares about you would really ever say or think. When you’re putting yourself down or feeling negative about yourself, think about what a good friend would say to you. Uplift yourself as you would uplift your best friend!

Did you know that helping someone else with something is proven to shift your thinking away from your own problems? Being a good friend has so many benefits.

Don’t compare yourself to others. This is a tough one-- especially with social media highlighting the best of the best of everyone’s lives. According to a study conducted by Happify, people who regularly compare themselves to others are more likely to experience envy, guilt, regret, and defensive. Live life outside of your iPhone!

And if you can’t quit the blues, try some of these:
Take a Pilates or Yoga class
Go for a walk
Listen to upbeat music
Call a friend and talk about a funny memory

And remember, learning how to deflect your negative thoughts takes time and practice. Be patient and forgiving, not just with others but with yourself too!
