Updated info: Pilates Platinum and Soupure's 10 Day Challenge!

The Challenge:
Complete 7 Pilates Classes in 10 days in conjunction with a Soupure Cleanse of your Choice!

What is Soupure and how do I learn more?

How do I sign up?
Make sure you sign up by Feb 1st with Soupure and Pilates Platinum.  Either of these can be done in person or online.  Use code PilatesPlatinum10 for Soupure when you order (http://www.soupure.com/order/) online for them to know you are a Pilates Platinum Client.  E-mail info@pilatesplatinum.com to sign up with Pilates Platinum or in person at the studio. Either option is fine just make sure you sign up with BOTH to be qualified!

When?
Challenge take place Feb 4th-13th, sign up by the 1st at the very latest!

Cost?
The cost is the price of whatever you need to purchase or not purchase in order to complete at least 7 classes within the 10 days as well as the price of the cleanse you choose to challenge yourself with!  Participating in the challenge give you 10% off any cleanse for the challenge.

How do I get my soups?
After you place your oder at http://www.soupure.com/order/ you will fill out information to have them delivered to your doorstep, whether it is your home of office!

What if I cannot make it to 7 Classes During the Challenge?
You can still get the 10% discount on a soup cleanse during the 10 days, but will not be qualified to win the grand prize.

And we thought Kale couldn't get any kooler...

A New Year brings tons of "news". New goals, new plans, new hobbies and passions and re-newed commitment. 

How about a new veggie? 
Did you know the last hybrid veggie developed was Broccolini back in 1993? It's been over a decade, but, thanks to Tozer Seeds, a vegetable breeding company out of the UK, there's a new green on the block.

Cross-bred in England, and introduced to the US last fall, Kalettes are finally making a real debut. After 15 years of development inspired by the desire to create a kale-type vegetable that was versatile, easy to prepare, and good looking, Kalettes have arrived and are blooming with the best flavors of kale and brussels.
You can prepare Kalettes easily-- try roasting them (the outer leaves crisp up like lake chips while the stalk stays tender and mildly sweet!) or shred them (to throw in a salad) or simply sauté in olive oil to eat alone or to add to your favorite dishes.

You can now find them at Trader Joes (look for "Kale Sprouts") or in your local produce section. And if you want to grow Kalettes yourself, seeds will be available for small farmers and individual gardeners in the near future.

Melt in Your Mouth (and we're not talking about M&M's!)

We love a good snack as much as the next guy (or gal), but we don’t love extra calories, especially post-holidays.

Try this amazing recipe for a sweet and savory guilt-free snack that’ll most definitely satisfy your snack craving.
Spicy Popcorn Cashew Mix
-2 cups of air popped popcorn
-2 tablespoons of chopped and toasted Cashews
-1 teaspoon of olive oil
-1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
-1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika
-1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Toss it all together (we suggest using your hands) in a big bowl and enjoy your healthy snack!

Nutritional Info:
163 calories
9 grams of fat (2 grams of sat. fat)
19 grams of carbs
3 grams of fiber

5 grams of protein

Don't Hit Snooze

We all know the drill:
It’s dark outside at 6am, and it’s cold. 
It’s not very welcoming outside of your covers. 
You’re tired. 
Maybe you’re sore. 

And you really, really, don’t want to get out of bed.

Sound familiar? Don’t hit snooze! Read on for some tips to help you get out of bed and get your day going right.

1. First Stop: Cold Shower
A cold rinse first thing in the AM is refreshing and will surely wake you up. It’s invigorating, but it might not be for you. So if you can’t last a whole shower with goosebumps, try spending just the last minute of your shower under cold (or even room temp) water to wake you up before you really start your day.

2. A Mantra Makes it Better
A healthy, positive mantra is great for any time of the day, but a positive affirmation when you first awake will help set the tone for starting your day and reaching your goals.

3. Hydrate x 3
Studies show drinking three 6-8 oz. glasses of water as soon as you open your eyes jumpstarts your metabolism and immune system. If you’re used to hot coffee or tea and can’t switch to room-temperature water, try drinking a mug of almost-boiling water with the juice of half a lemon. It’ll help start your digestion for the day and get you up and out to the kitchen first thing.

4. Exfoliate First
Even heard of Dry Brushing? Google it. And if that’s not your thing, just giving your face a nice exfoliating wash will stimulate your skin and wake your body right up.
