It’s no
secret that Pilates Platinum has become a go-to for day-dates with friends. It’s
perfect-- you get to see your besties while fitting an amazing workout in, too.
What more can you ask for? Well, maybe a post-pilates playdate to recap the
booty-blasting last hour of class?!
Don’t
worry, we’ve rounded up some neighborhood gems that are perfect for a post (or
pre) Pilates meet up.
Pilates Platinum Hollywood Studio, meet Glow Bio!
Glow Bio
serves bio-available smoothies, cold-pressed juices, boosters, grab-n-go
snacks, [healthy] sweets, salads, and even coffee. All organic, and all made
in-house at the bright and cheery store/cafe, located on Melrose Ave, just 2
minutes from Pilates Platinum's Hollywood Studio (at Melrose and Gardner).
Owner
Kimberly Snyder C.N. is a clinical nutritionist and best-selling author of The
Beauty Detox Solution and The Beaty Detox Foods. Her bio explains,
“Snyder designs eating plans, recipes and tips that work for everyone
regardless of lifestyle: vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian or omnivore, though she
emphasizes a primarily plant foods-based diet. She teaches other to discover
their ultimate health and beauty by following her principles and without having
to obsess over the minutia of typical dieting programs.”
Glow Bio
is so much more than a “juice bar”!
Glow hosts
special events, too, with topics such as nutrition and gardening for
children that are hosted in group sessions in the back courtyard. You may even find
Glow’s Cleanse Specialist, Joanna, busily working alongside patrons, answering
client calls, explaining cleanses and products to customers, and coming up with
new ways to share Glow’s unique offerings with the community.
There’s
so much going on you wonder how they keep the juices in stock! The staff,
dressed in black Glow Bio tees, is constantly chopping chard and kale, pressing
homemade almond milk, and restocking snacks to keep up with the demand. They do
a good job juggling it all, helping customers filtering in non-stop. Everyone
behind the counter is so knowledgeable and helpful that you don’t get
overwhelmed with how much they have to offer. You can grab a spot in their
outdoor courtyard, or get comfy on big benches inside. You can hop on wifi and
work all day, or sit with friends to enjoy a meal and drink.
For your next Pre- or Post-Pilates
hangout with friends or co-worker-outers, head to Glow Bio and you’ll be in for
a treat (or two!)
Try this:
1. Power Protein Smoothie
(made with raw protein powder, chia gel, banana, cacao,
stevia, and homemade almond milk)
2. Detoxifier Cold-Pressed Juice
(made with pineapple, cucumber, and mint)
3. Supreme Soother Shot
(made with raw aloe, turmeric, and
lime)
The
above picks are also all included in the “Bundle of Fitness”,
where you can purchase a mix of shakes, a juice, and a booster that have been specifically created to re-fuel your body
post-workout!
Attend this:
Introducing Glow’s first ever sit-down brunch! In honor of
mother’s day, Glow is hosting a delicious brunch, with a 4-course pre-set menu,
in their outdoor courtyard. Experience a little of everything- from a Blueberry
