Are you drinking enough water?

It’s no secret I like to break a sweat every day by taking a dance class, going on a run or a hike, or by burning calories on the megaformer at Pilates Platinum. As an avid exerciser, I’m also an avid water-drinker! The more you exercise, the more important it is to drink liquids. The key is to drink enough water before, during, and after workouts to hydrate your body and get the most out of your workout.
I came across a helpful tool online from a company who knows a ton about hydration: CAMELBAK.  Click on the link below to view CAMELBAK’s Hydration Calculator! You plug in your physical details along with some information about the type of activity, your sweat levels, and the weather conditions, and the Hydration Calculator keeps you on track by telling you how much water your body needs for maximum performance.  Pretty cool!

The site also breaks down how the calculation is made, and teaches you about regular hydration. You can even shop for some interesting utilitarian water bottles to help you stay hydrated in style.

Enjoy … and keep drinking water!

Proteios

First Order of Importance

What is first order of importance?

The title tells you.

Proteios

Also known as Protein.

PROTEIN IS THE FIRST ORDER OF IMPORTANCE!

Proteios is its greek name.

Aside from water, protein is the most abundant molecule found in the human body.  It exists in all cells of the body and is the major structural component for all cells found in the body...especially those lone lean lovely muscles you work so hard at sculpting.  Protein is also in your hair, internal organs and skin, as well as used in cell membranes.

Those of you that participated in the fat flush, should have learned the importance of protein and water.

This is just a friendly reminder to make sure you get in your protein with every meal and drink plenty of water!
